The 2011 BMW X3 - together with required camouflage
To say that details have leaked is a bit disingenuous, as the leak has emanated from BMW. So although technically I suppose we should call it a leak because the details are not exactly concrete – and the photos are of camouflaged cars – it’s more of a tease than a leak. The photos tell us not a huge amount – it’s a new BMW X3 with some black and white bits on.
It is the last morning of the Autoweek America Adventure, as I write this. Our traveling circus heads toward the big top in an hour or so, and we should be in Las Vegas before noon. There is anticipation in the air, unlike other rallies I've attended, as this one has a significant main prize: a 2011 Mopar Charger will be given to one lucky contestant on the stage at the Specialty Equipment Market Association convention.
One of the best things about the Monterey week is driving to it. Thanks to plate tectonics, California has some of the best roads in the world. No one knows those roads better than Martin Swig, professor emeritus of the School of Piston Knocks.
